Saying Good-bye to Cambridge( 康桥）Again --by Xu Zhimo

Very quietly I take my leave

As quietly as I came here;

Quietly I wave（挥手） good-bye

To the rosy（玫瑰红的）clouds in the western（西方） sky.

The golden willows（柳树）by the riverside

Are young brides（新娘） in the setting sun;

Their reflections（反光） on the shimmering（闪烁的）waves

Always linger（磨蹭） in the depth（深处） of my heart.

The floating （浮动）heart growing in the sludge （淤泥）

Sways（摇摆） leisurely （悠闲地）under the water;

In the gentle（温和的）waves of Cambridge （康桥）

I would be a water plant!

That pool（水塘）under the shade （树荫）of elm（榆树） trees

Holds not water but the rainbow（彩虹） from the sky;

Shattered （粉碎）to pieces among the duckweeds（浮萍）

Is the sediment（沉淀物）of a rainbow（彩虹）-like dream?

To seek（寻找） a dream? Just to pole（撑） a boat （小船）upstream （逆流而上）

To where the green grass is more verdant（青翠）;

Or to have the boat（小船）fully （完全地）loaded（装载） with starlight （星光）

And sing aloud in the splendor（光彩） of starlight.

But I cannot sing aloud

Quietness（安静） is my farewell （告别）music;

Even summer insects（昆虫） heap （堆积）silence for me

Silent is Cambridge tonight!

Very quietly I take my leave

As quietly as I came here;

Gently（轻轻地） I flick（轻弹） my sleeves （袖子）

Not even a wisp（束） of cloud will I bring away
